Supporting Taldumande Youth Services

FutureSteps is a Lendlease shared value initiative grounded in this belief that everyone needs a place to call home. The aim of FutureSteps is to empower vulnerable people by partnering with established not-for-profit organisations to boost the availability of quality accommodation and support services in the community, and by investing in targeted skilling, training and jobs programs.

One of Lendlease FutureSteps not-for-profit partners is Taldumande Youth Services which is an organisation that supports vulnerable young people aged 12 to 21 years by providing a pathway, from homelessness to independence.

Taldumande has a property in North Willoughby that houses three young people as part of their Youth at Risk Independent Accommodation Program. This program offers semi‑supported housing for young people aged 16 to 18 years who are transitioning to independent living. To increase the supply of beds by two, FutureSteps provided a grant to convert the garage to a granny flat.

To amplify this partnership, Lendlease’s Commercial Funds and Asset Management team, offered further support to Taldumande Youth Services with the provision of essential items. Their contribution included:
  • A one year supply of shampoo and conditioner
  • A one year supply of bodywash
  • A one year supply of hand sanitiser
  • 480 toilet rolls
As an added benefit, the Commercial team procured the majority of these items from social enterprise Two Good Co. Two Good uses good food and good things to share love and respect with vulnerable people who have lived experience of domestic violence and homelessness. This project will enable Two Good to distribute 50 beautiful Two Good Care Packs to women living in shelters.

FutureSteps looks forward to further growing the partnership with Taldumande Youth Services. If you’d like to learn more about FutureSteps please contact [email protected]
