WHAT IS FUTURESTEPS?
FutureSteps is a Lendlease social impact initiative supporting established charities and community organisations to deliver shelter and housing projects, including support services. This is achieved through financial contributions via our grant’s programs, skilled assistance and leveraging our supply chain.
Our focus - FutureSteps focuses solely on increasing the supply of transitional and long-term housing, with the aim of creating stronger pathways to housing security for those most at risk of homelessness and under housing stress.
Our history – The first grant was provided to Platform Youth Services in 2019 and since then we have donated over $4.0M to a diverse range of inspiring partner organisations. And delivered an additional $1.5M in social value through volunteering and in-kind support.

How we work – We are all about creating a lasting and sustainable impact. And we do this through fostering long-term relationships with our housing partners by providing resources and skills needed to create new housing stock, and through supporting an organisation to build their capacity. We work collaboratively from generating opportunities for innovative solutions around housing stress and homelessness, to getting boots on the ground through volunteering opportunities for our people.
Creating a multiplier effect - There are five core areas we leverage to create impact greater than dollars alone.
Outcomes – Greater housing security for the most vulnerable in our communities:
- Increase in supported transitional and long-term housing
- Increase in pathways to skilling, education and employment
- Greater dignity for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
And deeper understanding:
- Deeper experiences for our people and suppliers
- Greater understanding of the issues for our people and community
- More connection and participation across our communities
